Make Me New
By After the Chase

If you're at all familiar with bands like Out of the Grey or Acoustic Shack, you'll absolutely love the wit and artistry of After the Chase, a wonderful duo hailing from California. And if you like intelligently-written and sincere, but not-too-serious Christian music, you really should give a listen to their refreshing new album, Make Me New. The title track alone speaks volumes about their brilliant craftiness and expert production, but more importantly gives the listener a sense of whimsy and joy tied to a heartfelt dependence on God.

After the Chase's sophomore album, Make Me New is produced by Nate Sabin, who has worked with such artists as Dove Award Nominee Sara Groves. The project highlights the individual members' talents as singers and songwriters, and is filled with music birthed from the unity of their creative gifts.

After the Chase is the husband and wife team of Nathan and Jenna Strong, who began making music together in 2001. Their ministry is unique. As songwriters, they find inspiration in the big and little things of life, and they always have a story for how their songs were born.

There is an old Southern saying about romance: "He chased her until she caught him." "Throughout our lives," the couple says, "we find ourselves chasing after God, only to find that God has been catching us all along. Our music is our response to being caught up in the unconditional love offered to every one of us by the Creator of the universe." They add, "And we're here to create or facilitate ways for everyone to enter into God's presence."

When performing live, they add their own quirky sense of humor to every concert. In the stories they tell, the songs they sing, they always weave into the night a bit of the fabric that brought them together: the Grace of God.

After the Chase is also a Mercy Ships artist, partnering with the global-aid ministry to publicize and promote Mercy Ships around the world. "We believe in social justice very strongly," says Nathan. "Mercy Ships helps the less fortunate all over the world, and we're privileged to be a part of that."

Growing up as a pastor's son, Nathan is no stranger to life in ministry. He has traveled widely (over 35 countries and almost every continent), and loves to sing, write music, play volleyball, and learn. Nathan plays guitar, piano, and is co-lead singer.

Jenna, a fireman's daughter, is a singer, songwriter, dancer, choreographer and occasionally an actress and playwright, and adds her own unique perspective to what they create together. Jenna plays guitar, percussion, piano, and is also co-lead singer.
